Tom Watson MP in Stratford on Sunday

Come meet Deputy Leader candidate Tom Watson MP in Stratford this Sunday (9 Aug) 3pm – 4.30pm at the Stratford Picture House cafe/bar, (1st Floor), Salway Road, London E15 1BX. Light refreshments will be served.

Following West Ham CLP’s nomination of Tom Watson MP for Deputy Leader of the Labour party, he is keen to meet members to hear what they think and to talk about the ideas he plans to put in place if elected.

Cllr Rokhsana Fiaz of East Ham CLP said:

“For Tom, the politics of organisation really matter and after our general election learning the lessons of our defeat will be really crucial. There are some fundamental questions he wants to ask all Labour Party members. Did the five million conversations work? Did we significantly distinguished between ‘contact’ and ‘engagement when out door knocking? How can we successfully build meaningful relationships with the working people of Britain and our communities?  Were our organisers and members empowered to take decisions on message, were they given the encouragement to fight on issues unique to the circumstances in their area? How can local councillors be the very best trained community organisers in the country?”T

The event is open to all East Ham and West Ham CLP members and registered supporters.
