West Ham Labour Party Annual Conference

When: Saturday 5th March 11:30 – 16:30

Where: Community Links, 105 Barking Road, Canning Town, E16 4HQ (5min walk from Canning Town station)

Purpose: To create a development plan for West Ham Labour Party for the next year to ensure that West Ham Labour Party continues to grow, be an active Party and a formidable campaigning force. The day will bring together all our members to set achievable campaigning targets, design engaging campaigns, and generate fundraising ideas together.image

  • A: Setting up a West Ham Black Asian Minority Ethnic forum Led by Winston Vaughn (WH Equalities Officer) and Kamaljeet Jandu (Chair of BAME Labour
  • B: Communicating with our members and residents Led by Julianne Marriott (WH Vice Chair, Campaigns and Communications) and Polly Billington (Former Parliamentary Candidate and Communications Director for the Labour Party and Citizens Advice)
  • C: Designing community campaigns Led by Forhad Hussain (WH Treasurer) and
  • D: Fundraising Led by John Saunders (WH Fundraising Officer)
  • E: Engaging young people Led by Laura Bell (WH Youth Officer) and Ria Bernard (Former Chair of London Young Labour)
  • F: Working together with the Trade Union movement Led by Kim Silver (WH Trade Union Liaison Officer) and Steve Terry (Political Officer for UNISON)

13:00-13:45 Break into local wards to create development plans led by Branch Chairs and Secretaries
13:45-14:15 Free lunch and organise into canvassing groups inc. training
14:15-14:30 Sadiq Khan closing speech, and opportunity for photos
14:30-16:30 Canvassing with Sadiq
