Could you be a Labour councillor in Newham? Final opportunity to put yourself forward as a candidate

Over the last fortnight, Newham members have selected 57 brilliant candidates to fight May’s elections and serve, if elected, as Newham’s councillors for the next four years. Of those, 26 women have so far been selected, with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, ready to implement a Labour vision for their borough.

We are reopening the selection process to women in Newham to ensure we have enough candidates to contest the remaining ward – Plaistow South – and any other vacancies that may come up. If you’ve ever thought about putting yourself forward to serve your community and seek elected office, this is your chance.

If you’re interested, please respond to this email to request an application form, which we will need back with us by Friday. You will need to be available for interview this Saturday and potential appeals next week.

A quick reminder – to apply you need to be a woman, a paid-up member since at least 1 January 2016 and resident in Newham since at least 1 January 2017. You will need to be legally qualified and not disqualified, including being on the electoral register. You’ll need to demonstrate commitment to the Party and understanding of the role of a councillor. Candidates who previously applied unsuccessfully cannot reapply.

Please do consider applying and being part of Newham’s Labour team. For an application form or more information just reply to
