Labour’s manifesto for Newham – consultation event 5 March

Labour is currently putting together its manifesto for the local elections on 22 May. As part of this process we’d like to invite you to an all members meeting to get your feedback and views with Sir Robin Wales. We’ll be meeting at 7.30 at 306 High Street, E15 1AJ. If you’re unable to come along please email us your comments or question and we’ll ask them  on your behalf at the meeting and ensure that it’s passed on.

Oh What A Lovely War – Thursday 6 March

The play about ordinary fist world war soldiers was a massive hit 50 years ago and is returning to it’s home – Stratford’s Theatre Royal. Newham Labour has reserved an exclusive date to launch our election campaign.

Oh what a lovely warCome and join us to find out whether Oh What A Lovely War lives up to Michael Gove’s view that it’s a “leftwing attempt to peddle unpatriotic myths” by joining us at 7pm on the 6 March.

Previous events

Throughout the year we hold a variety of different events, from hustings to socials to meals and fund raisers. You can find out more about some of our previous events below.

On 31 January many of West Ham’s women joined our comrades in East Ham for their first women’s meeting.

On January 16th the Women’s forum hosted an education debate with fantastic speakers and a very engaged audience.

In January the Women’s forum held a training session followed by over 15 West Ham members heading out to help our comrades in Thurrock highlight the Cost of Cameron.

In December 2013 we held a Christmas social and quiz

In September 2013 we had a Top of the Policies event. Read more about this event here.

In July 2013 we held a fund-raising gala dinner with Ed Balls.

In May 2013 we hosted an MEP candidates hustings event.
